Last few weeks

I haven't had much of a chance to get on here and write something in the last little while, so this will be pretty scattered trying to recap everything.

The last few weeks in Squamish have been fantastic. I've been doing a lot of trad climbing on both single pitch routes and longer routes. Nolan and I had a day of slab where we did 2 laps up the Apron for a total of 14 pitches.

I've also been doing a lot of climbing with Grant and Dan. Grant and I have done some shorter multi pitch climbs that he has highly recommended, and they are yet to disappoint. I feel like my leading has been excelling and I am getting far more comfortable leading on gear. 

I have also been doing a fair amount of bouldering, mostly with Dan, Paul, and Colin. Paul and Colin are from the States and aren't here for too much longer, I think they're heading back next Tuesday. Paul has to head back to find a place to live for this school semester. I believe he's doing his masters in something biology/ecology, in Utah.

I have some video of me doing some easier bouldering here that I am in the process of editing (woo fun! I've never edited a video before and its pretty neat haha) and I will post it as soon as its finished.

Dan and I did a night ascent of Diedre by headlamps last week before I went up to see Kim in Vanderhoof. That was a neat experience as it was my first night climb. It took a bit of getting used to.

2 weeks ago was the Squamish Mountain Festival. There were presentations at night and different courses and events during the day. One of the events was a dyno comp (a dyno is a dynamic leap from one hold to the next). It was basically to see who could jump the furthest. My friend Luke and his roommate Marc participated in it. Luke did well, I think he finished 5th (out of like 30) and Marc won it, jumping to a hold 2.5m away!

I have been camping under the stars on crash mats out on the spit recently as the weather has been fantastic! Dan, Grant and Paul are all sleeping in their trucks and Colin and I sleep on crash mats behind the trucks.
